Privacy Policy

Firefighter Trades ("the App") helps firefighters post and trade shift days with other members of their department. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and phone number, provided when you create an account.
• Department profile: your department, rank, station, and division, provided during profile setup.
• Trade activity: the shift days you post, the trade proposals you send and receive, and their status.
• Push notification token: a device token used to deliver notifications about trade activity, collected only if you enable notifications.
• Feedback: any bug reports or feedback you choose to submit, along with your account email.

The App does not collect your location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or any usage analytics.

How your information is used

• To display your posted trade days to other verified members of your department so they can propose trades.
• To deliver push notifications about new proposals, accepted or declined trades, cancellations, and (optionally) newly posted days matching your rank.
• To let a confirmed trade partner contact you by phone or text — your phone number is shared only with the other party of a confirmed trade, and only if you have phone sharing enabled in Settings.
• To respond to feedback you submit.

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing.
• We do not show ads or use advertising or analytics trackers.
• Your profile and trade activity are visible only to other authenticated users of the App, not publicly.

Where your data is stored

Data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Firebase Authentication) on Google Cloud servers in the United States, protected by authentication and security rules. Push notifications are delivered through Expo's notification service.

Your choices

• Notifications: you can turn push notifications on or off at any time in the App's Settings.
• Phone sharing: you can disable phone number sharing in Settings.
• Profile edits: you can update your profile information at any time in Settings.

Account and data deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data (profile, posted days, proposals, and feedback) directly in the App at any time: go to Settings → Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Alternatively, you may request deletion by emailing firefightertradesapp@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Account Deletion Request". Emailed deletion requests are honored within 30 days.

Children

The App is intended for adult fire-department personnel and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "Last updated" date.
